I guess my love of photography started as I watched my father use an old Box Brownie Camera.
To my child's eye it was the most amazing thing I had ever seen.
My passion was further fuelled a few years later when my parents gifted me with a camera. I still
remember walking into the store and staring at my soon-to-be-own camera as it sat in the glass
display cabinet. A Kodak camera. I took many badly shot photos with that little gem, some of
which I still have in albums today.
When I was in my mid teens my parents went one step further and purchased my first SLR, a Ricoh.
It was my constant companion for about 10 years at which stage I gave it up for a model that would
auto focus on my children as they never sat still long enough for me to manually focus.
I miss that camera.
So in retrospect, I owe my love of photography to my parents, who ignited the flame and in their
own way kept it burning through the years.
To Mum and Dad, this site is dedicated to you.
I know I have never said it enough...........thank you.
And to my long suffering husband, who listens with patient ears and trys to look interested when
I talk about fstops and bokeh. Who surprised me last Christmas with a Nikon D70 under the tree, for
so many things, thank you.
